Programs

AED administers these W. K. Kellogg Foundation Leadership Programs:

  • Study Grants
The Study Grants Program develops thought leaders, development practitioners, and action researchers through leadership experiences and study grants for masters and doctoral degrees for emerging leaders and professionals from Southern Africa (Botswana, Lesotho, Mozambique, South Africa, Swaziland and Zimbabwe).
  • Dissertation/Thesis Awards
The Dissertation Awards Program supports the compiling and writing up of thesis research in Southern Africa by students in the region. These awards recognize research which focuses generally on rural communities and addresses their unique needs.
  • Desmond Tutu Footprints of Legends Leadership Awards

  • The Desmond Tutu Leadership Awards Program recognizes community leaders in the Southern Africa Region whose achievements embody the words of Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu that "if we are ever truly to prosper, it will be only together."
  • Undergraduate Bursary Fellowship
The Undergraduate Bursary Fellowship Program selects the most deserving associates of the Kellogg Foundation-sponsored development projects and enables them to build on their field experience through undergraduate study at the CIDA City Campus in Johannesburg and other campuses throughout the region.
  • Banking Group Fellowship

  • The Banking Group Fellowship recruits regional undergraduate and graduate students in business and finance, exposes them to an intense semester program of orientation and assessment, and places them in learnerships in the South African banking sector where they undertake projects for major banking firms.
